Well my friends, disaster has struck on the farm. My boyfriend pointed out that the iPhone weather app showed the icon for "super freaking windy" this weekend here in Brooklyn. It was, indeed, super super freaking windy. Look what happened...
The morning glories were mostly small sprouts so I think I can salvage them, but the thing I'm really bummed about is my hydrangea pot. Remember how excited I was about experimenting with the colors? Well now I have to repot the plant, and I'm hoping it won't be too stressed after having been shaken, shattered, and repotted in new soil (again), especially in this cold weather.
I guess it could be worse. At least my prized corn plants were spared (in the blue bins and the large round pot). Eeeee, they look like real corn stalks!!! That still blows me away.
So, how could this have been avoided? There must be a lesson in here somewhere. Pay attention to the iPhone weather app? Put rocks in smaller pots so they have more weight? Seriously, I need your words of wisdom.

Looks like the wind came through the covering you put on the chain link. Maybe take everything down permanently from the little concrete wall so the wall protects the plants from the wind?

you must be using a super light potting mix. Definately more weight, rock are good or maybe secure to the fence.
