Don't be alarmed, but there's been another small disaster on FarmTina.
One of the newly formed lemons on my teeny lemon tree was knocked off in the rainstorms we had last weekend! It had just started to turn from green to yellow when it's life was tragically cut short. Now the lemon tree has one tiny lemon on it, and a few flower buds that will hopefully turn into lemons. Some of the flowers fell of the tree in the storm as well. My lemon output is going to be seriously lower than I had planned!
However, I did cut open the little mini lemon to see what he looked like inside. These are his slices after drying in the sun for less than 24 hours. I love how thick his skin is compared to the fruit inside.
My lemon tree grows a lot of flowers, but they always seem to be knocked off the stem before they can form into fruit. Since I plan to bring the tree indoors for the winter, I wonder if the tree will form more fruit during that time because there will be less forces working against it?

OH NO! Poor little guy. Your fallen flower are probably male ones. Looking at your picture I think that the flower on the right with the yellow base is prob a female one. you can usually fertilize them yourself with a q-tip if you have a lack of polinators. Same goes for squash. I jut finished reading a book that you might like. I think it jives with your city farm. It' called "Home Grown" by Marta Teegan.
Good luck with the little lemons. I just got a little meyer one but no flowers yet. cant wait!
