As you begin to plan this year's garden, don't forget the old tradition of planting by the moon!
The Old Farmer's Almanac has a great (and free!) online chart that uses historical frost data and moon phases to calculate the best dates to plant each of your fruit and vegetable seeds. It takes into consideration how long each seed takes to germinate, how long the plant needs to grow before it begins producing, and how much time it needs for harvest before the cold weather comes.
Here is chart for my location, but you can type in your own zipcode and see what The Almanac has to say about your own moon planting. Now, start planning!
